Hiromi Conboy Driving rehabilitation practitioner, Occupational therapist, California driving instructor

About Me.

DRIVING POTENTIAL was established by an occupational therapist Hiromi Conboy (also known as Hiro), who has had a long-standing passion for driving rehabilitation since graduating from the Occupational Therapy program at the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse in 2012. Since then, Hiro has worked at an inpatient rehabilitation hospital, specializing in stroke and neurological disorders. Hiro recognized a significant gap in the greater Bakersfield community: there were limited resources available to support individuals with medical conditions in safely returning to driving after hospital discharge, or to provide guidance when driving was no longer a safe option. Understanding the vital role as an occupational therapist that driving plays in maintaining independence and quality of life, she founded DRIVING POTENTIAL to bridge this gap.

Hiro is a dedicated member of the Association for Driver Rehabilitation Specialists (ADED) and has earned the micro-credential of Driving Rehabilitation Practitioner (DRP). She is also a licensed California driving instructor. Currently, Hiro is working toward achieving the Certified Driving Rehabilitation Specialist (CDRS) credential to further enhance her expertise and commitment to safe and independent mobility.
